9-1-1 Training Overview

The Panhandle Regional Planning Commission's 911 Network Training Program was designed to educate and improve 911 personnel throughout the Texas Panhandle by recommending and hosting minimum training standards classes for 911 call takers.

The 911 Training Program hosts training that supplements the training that employees receive in their centers and focuses on classes that teach how to handle stressful situations and specific types of calls. As this profession can be highly stressful, the goal of this program is to reduce stressors that employees have both at work and in their personal life. This not only improves the quality of life for call takers, but also improves the level of 911 service provided to the public by reducing the employee turnover rate so more experienced, highly trained, and quality call takers are available to answer 911 calls.

The 911 Training Program encourages regional calltakers to pursue trainings which will increase their TCLEOSE telecommunicator certification levels from basic, intermediate, to advanced. Please visit the 911 Calendar for upcoming trainings and events or contact the 911 training team.
